This November, Australia welcomes SOLUNA a brand-new, open-air music experience built around golden hour, sunset, and beyond. Designed for lovers of melodic and progressive house, SOLUNA debuts across Melbourne, Sydney, and Adelaide, bringing together some of the most exciting names in the scene: YOTTO [FIN], Rezident (Live) [GER], Qrion [JPN], Nicky Elisabeth [NLD], Taglo [AUS], and the Sydney-born rising star Blake.08 [AUS].
The concept is simple yet magnetic – a day-into-night experience celebrating progression in sound and light, where each act carries the vibe seamlessly from sunshine to starlight.
From Sydney With Love: Meet Blake.08
Blake Gilray, known to most as Blake.08, was born in Maroubra, a beachside suburb of Sydney, and began producing music at a young age. Initially launching his career as one half of the duo Human Movement, Blake decided in 2021 to branch out on his own, exploring breaks and electro under a new alias inspired by his beloved Roland TR-808 drum machine.
Just two years later, Blake made his debut on Anjunadeep, and though his relationship with the label is still fresh, he’s already made a powerful impact. With three EPs, several singles, and collaborations with Jody Wisternoff and Qrion, Blake.08 has firmly established himself as one of Australia’s most exciting electronic exports.
‘From Sydney With Love’ – An Album and a Tribute
Blake’s debut album, From Sydney With Love, borrows its name from the very first demo playlist he ever sent to Anjunadeep and represents the culmination of 15 years of creative passion. Written and produced entirely in his home studio, the record is a heartfelt love letter to the city that shaped him — from the beaches and harbour to the winding roads of the Royal National Park, a favourite driving route for the motorsports enthusiast.
That love of motion runs through his sound. Many of his releases feature car-themed artwork, and in his Anjunadeep single ‘Star Sender’, sharp-eared fans will even catch a line from the iconic street-racing anime Initial D. The result? A rhythmically-charged, emotionally-driven body of work built for both dancefloors and midnight drives.
With ‘From Sydney With Love’ I set out to craft a sound that felt entirely my own, as free from outside influences as I could manage and rooted in the raw connection between rhythm and emotion. It’s music designed for movement, be it driving or dancing. I hope those who listen find themselves experiencing introspection and joy. Sydney is my city, it’s where I’ve moved through so many phases of life. Without Sydney, the culture, the people, my family, the beaches, the harbour…I wouldn’t be the person I am today.
